CMPK 500mL is a solution administered to cattle to address deficiencies in essential minerals like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium. It's primarily used to treat conditions such as hypocalcemia (milk fever), hypomagnesemia (grass tetany), and other related deficiencies. The injectable, which is dextrose-based, contains a balanced combination of these vital minerals.

For administration, the solution should be warmed to body temperature and slowly injected intravenously into the cattle. The typical dose is 500 mL per 800 to 1,000 pounds of the animal's body weight.

However, precautions must be taken during administration to prevent adverse effects like heart block or shock. Care should be exercised to avoid perivascular or subcutaneous deposition of the solution, which can lead to severe inflammation at the injection site.
