Lactated Ringer's solution is indicated for correcting electrolyte depletion, metabolic acidosis, and dehydration in cattle, calves, horses, sheep, and swine.
Dosage & Administration: The solution can be administered intravenously, subcutaneously, or intraperitoneally (except in horses) under strict aseptic conditions.
For Cattle and Horses: Administer 2 to 5 mL per pound of body weight, depending on the animal's size and condition. This dosage can be repeated 1 to 3 times daily or as necessary.
For Swine and Sheep: Administer 2 to 5 mL per pound of body weight, depending on the animal's size and condition. Repeat the dosage 1 to 3 times daily or as needed.
If administered subcutaneously, divide the dosage into multiple injection sites and massage the injection points to aid absorption and prevent inflammation or sloughing.
Dosage should be determined by a veterinarian based on factors such as the patient's age, weight, clinical condition, and laboratory findings.
