Pinnacle I.N. (Intranasal) Streptococcus Equi Vaccine, Live Culture, 10 x 2.5mL
To safeguard horses against strangles, consider utilizing PINNACLE® I.N., the exclusive modified-live bacterial vaccine designed to prevent strangles caused by Streptococcus equi (S. equi).
Strangles is a highly contagious upper-respiratory infection that predominantly affects young horses. Indications of strangles encompass symptoms such as fever, difficulty swallowing, abnormal breathing, nasal discharge, and the development of swellings or abscesses in the lymph nodes. The disease spreads rapidly and is easily transmitted through direct contact between animals or via objects like buckets, bridles, or human hands that have been in contact with infected horses. Horses that travel to events, shows, or are exposed to other traveling horses, such as those in boarding barns, are particularly at risk.
PINNACLE® I.N. is intended for the vaccination of healthy horses aged 9 months or older, serving as an aid in preventing diseases caused by S. equi. The recommended dosage involves aseptically rehydrating the vaccine with the provided sterile diluent and administering the entire rehydrated vaccine into one nostril using a syringe with an applicator tip. A second dose should be given two to three weeks later, and annual revaccination is advised.
It's essential to note that PINNACLE® I.N. is for intranasal use only and should not be administered through any other route than intranasal.
